My automatic gearbox ( 4F27E) changes smoothly through all the gears but I am experiencing a clunk or kick applying throttle in drive after changing direct from Reverse.
Initially there is a hesitation when applying the throttle in drive with a slight rattling noise. Then there is a kick or clunk as the forward motion kicks in. It only happens when changing from R to D. Periodically if the kick is severe the dashboard gear amber warning light illuminates but there are no MIL codes to down load from the ECU. If I am gentle on the throttle and feed it in slowly , the car pulls away OK. All other gears change smoothly.
I am hoping it is a soleniod valve problem - but which one?
Could someone can help?
