Question;
Does anyone know what seating the vents are in when you first turn on the climate control system in the 2012 focus and there is not an air flow direction indicator on the screen? If you press any air flow direction button it will began to blow the air out the one you selected. There is no mention of this in the owner’s manual. Thanks

In my car, they were by default set to "Auto" and the vents speed at 4. But once you change it, it will keep them as you set till the next change you do to them.

In AUTO mode: If it's cooling the cabin to the set temperature, the airflow is set to the panel vents. If it's heating the cabin to the set temperature, the airflow is set to floor. In full AUTO mode, the air speed is variable depending on demand to the set temperature.
