ok so for the last mayeb 2 to 3 months my check fuel cap light would come on. id make sure it was tight, check the seal and everything is ALWAYS fine. reset the code and drive away. It doesnt come on for about 200 miles and then comes on again randomly and NOT after just refilling? any ideas what it could be?

Try and buy a new cap and see if that works if not take it into a shop and have them pinpoint the problem. Proabaly an EVAP leak though and part of the EVAp system is the gas cap.

Our '06 was doing this. After 5 days at the dealer shop (...) they finally figured out that it was the filler neck. This was after replacing the cap, and checking every other thing in the fuel delivery system (tank, lines, evap canister, etc...).

I mean, it was under warranty so it didn't cost us anything, but it sure didn't give me any confidence in their service department.
