Last Sunday i attended the Chatsworth Rally Show for the first time, the event is held on the grounds of Chatsworth House in the county of Derbyshire in the East Midlands of England. Held annually the event attracts big names and classic machinery from the world of rallying, cars are displayed in the paddock and driven on a feature Rally Stage. This year the following drivers were in attendance: Hannu Mikkola, 1983 World Rally Champion; current works Ford driver Jari-Matti Latvala (Saturday); Simo Lampinen, winner of six world class rallies (prior to the inception of the WRC) and one of the original "Flying Finns"; Five-time British Rally Champion Jimmy McRae, Two-time British Champion Russell Brookes, current WRC driver Henning Solberg (Sunday) and rising Irish star Craig Breen.

Part one will focus on cars in the paddock, part 2 will focus on the action on the feature Rally stage.

Without further ado...

Thanks for the kind comment about my Firenza. Coming from Focus enthusiasts that's a big compliment! That spoiler is authentic; they ran them because the cars were geared for 130mph on the loose and the driver reckoned it made a difference at that speed... This is Jan Hettema in 1973:

Europe does have the best cars! We are fortunate enough to have a car show or two every year right next door, so we are kept up to date! I have always liked the Focus ST, and the Fiesta ST and I know a couple of my coworkers do as well. Hell, they have a couple of the 2018 models, and come in covered in mud from driving the trails on the weekends!
