Hi , I have a 2.0 ford focus automatic 2005 , had some work done at a garage. Drove the car home fine , afew days later tried to start the car started ok idled for very few seconds and stalled have kept trying and same problem every time , I have looked this problem up and tried things like checked the fuses and made sure the fuel pump works any other ideas of things that I can try would be helpful thanks

What did they fix when it was in the shop, could they have possibly left a vacuum hose off? Or it could possibly be an irregular amount of drag on the engine, ie. a/c compressor, alternator, idler pulley with seized bearings?? These would be the easiest things to check and could cause stalling.

It sounds like the IACV is either unplugged, or stuck closed. Remove it and clean it, or replace it. I would use only a Motorcraft part. That's what typically causes idle problems that completely kill the engine, but you should look over the air intake, and see if the MAF is plugged in.
