iwas goin down a bad brick road about 35. at the end was a verybumpy section. i slowed and stopped atat the stop sign and my car felt funny. i looked at my tach to see the rpms dropping to almost 0 and the car was shaking and my battery light popped on for a split second. ive driven 40 miles with no further problem did i wiggle a wire loose on the bumps? or should i look at my alternator or something else?

Most likely it isnt your alternator, your engine almost died....stumbled therefore it was spinning so slow that your alternator stopped putting out the correct amount of power. That is why the battery light came on. If it was my car I wouldnt chase it, maybe a one time fluke. If it does it more often then I would go after it.
