I have a automatic 2003 ford focus. The past 3 times that I went to go put gas in my car, it would shut off. After about 5 seconds it would just shut off. When I start again and give it some gas it will stay on but in a very low idle, and when I start to drive it goes fine. This only happens when I put gas in my car, and I can't figure out what the problem is.

Starts up fine. Mornings starts up fine, same with anytime throughout the day. So only when I get gas it does it.

You have a problem with the EVAP system.

Used to have a Jeep that would ALWAYS stall when getting gas and it would throw EVAP codes shortly thereafter.

Do you hear a clicking when the engine is cold coming from the purge solenoid - that could be indicative that you are having problems wit the solenoid too.
