Hi, have a 2003 Ford Focus 2.0L SOHC. When trying to take off it has no power, barely moves. Have changed fuel pump, fuel filter, new 02 sensors (as it keeps throwing codes p0135 and P0141), new catalytic converter, new throttle position sensor, new input shaft sensor on the transmission. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Look for a hairline crack in the coil pack. So does it sputter or what?
Coil pack issue happened to me. Could mash the pedal to the ground and not go anywhere. Lost speed up hills, etc. Went to the shop,40 miles away, that was a trip. Did my best not to stop. They replaced it, good as new again.

I don't see a crack in the coil pack. It doesn't really sputter, more hesitates. You can mash the pedal to the ground and it'll basically crawl. Sometimes it will eventually take off and go as long as you keep it going but if you have to stop it's the same thing again.

Yeah that is what mine did. Mine never took off. Though it did better in high rpms than it did in the lower ones. I am out f ideas.
Thanks for your help. As an update, I found that the fuse for the o2 sensors was blown. So changed the fuse and put the coil pack back on and it ran better for a bit though still had a slight hesitation when I pushed the gas pedal. Backed it down an incline and almost immediately started having major hesitation again.

I wonder why backing down an incline would cause it to hesitate. You changed the fuel filter and pump so I don't know then.
I guess check for other blown fuses??

Not sure, but a bad coil pack might be The Most Common failure on that engine. Please remove and re-inspect the coil pack for hairline cracks. Also, the wiring going into the coil pack is sometimes twisted, bent, damaged.
As Elsolo recommended, a compression test should be done, Easy to do and the test set can be borrowed (with deposit) from some car part stores.
Edit: Hey! This was post 1000 for me. Nothing happened? I still feel the same? No changes in The Force either? Hmmmmm? Wait! Rain clouds are forming inside my house! Now this IS very cool.

Just keep blindly replacing parts. You'll hit the right one eventually.
OR
Bring it to a shop and let someone with some training and tools find the problem. The $80-$100 for this would have saved you money prior to now. After, who knows. But the way you're just replacing stuff on a guess, you'll probably save money by having a professional fix the car.

But it's good to have those parts replaced in the long run and being done at the same time helps. Mpg might go up.

MPG going up is good from a money savings, but how much did he just spend on the gains? How long till the break even point?
Millions of cars out there with parts much older that are running just fine. "Preventative maintenance" is more about less weight than anything. All that excess cash is bad on your hips.

Yeah I understand what you mean. But replacing a fuel filter and plugs will increase mileage, nothing significant though. But will make it run smoother.
Anyone who buys something for mpg has to weigh those costs. Buying a new exhaust, intake, and tune, you will never make that money back in gas. But making a big payment at once that you can forget about is better to some people than seeing a high gas bill each week when they fill up.

Save money by having it diagnosed? Maybe, especially in this case. But save money by having them fix it? Almost never. You can usually buy the same parts cheaper elsewhere and you aren't paying labor. I had my alternator go out on a road trip.... $550 to replace a $150-200 part that I could've easily done myself if I had tools. The part alone was "$250." That doesn't include extra meals, tow (AAA membership in this case), hotel, etc.
Just as an update, took it to a shop, they found that the harmonic balancer had gotten loose and apparently twisted some damaging the keyway and the slot for the keyway on the harmonic balancer They said that'd allow it to get a little off time, and make it hesitate like it was. Anyways, put a new harmonic balancer, keyway, etc. on there and seems to have done the trick.
