I have an 02 ford focus zx5. When I have the air on and go to brake, my car drops rpms and feels like its going to stall out. I have a new battery so I don't think that would be the problem. It obviously has something to do with the fans but what can i do to help this... Besides the dumb answer of turning off the air.

With the air on, at idle, the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) is supposed to increase revs (via a command from the ECU) to compensate for the extra load. Therefore, you'd want to check IACV operation - they sometimes stick or fail - or you might want to check for vacuum/manifold leaks after the MAF. Intake leaks after the MAF are obviously not accounted for by the ECU and cause erratic idle speeds. The PCV hose splitting and collapsing is a common problem on older vehicles.
