Brits car rusted through, shock mount is dead... Car is no longer driveable, i took the shock out, so that it stops rubbing on the tire, so she could drive it home tonight, and after that it doesnt move, at least i hope she doesnt drive it

well the thing is it COULD be welded, IF there was any METAL to weld to, but seeing as how the frame is seperating, and there is nothing but rust, its not salvagable. Car is toast

im going to follow her home tonight, and then its time for her to save up for a new car

so if you guys know of anyone selling a cheap car, for say under 300 bucks, let me or brit know...

right now, she has to pay 300 to the state for her fines for her tickets

she will probably have to go a month without a car, sucks, but there really isnt anything else she can do. As soon as her tax return comes in, that will help, but i think another month or month and a half. Also, i would say something for $500 or less. Thats about all she can afford at the moment, and that will be in a month or longer. If she gets something more expensive, she will have to go longer without a car, and even going a month will be tough...

ill check craigslist down there though, im not picky, id drive up to 3 or so hours away to get a car for her...

my neighbor has a dodge shadow, a 93??? supposedly someone is gonna buy it cuz she wants 2-3hundo for it so if it doesnt go ill let u know, its a stick and needs new oil seals which is some engine work but seals are like 5 bucks so u do it yourself its worth it?

she needs more experience driving first, then she can learn how to drive a manual. not being mean, but she needs to be more coordinated with driving first

as for the work portion of it, yea, some small repairs wouldnt be bad, but nothing major, something like a tune up, or brakes, etc.. but nothing that requires major motor work, taking off the head, etc...

and yea, the plates and registration are fine, just saying the price of the car id like to stay under 500 bucks...

I know I won't find anything NEARLY as nice as your guys' Foci, but I'm a college student, like half the people on this site, and I can only afford so much, especially only working 12 hours a week and still having to pay $300.00 in fines to the state, on top of all my other bills. I'm trying to get my shit together, but right now, it's kinda hard. So if all I get for a few hundred is something that requires a little TLC but gets me around, then shit, I'm happy.

My uncle has a 1990 Daytona Shelby that he is willing to give me if I can find an engine for it. It has to be turbo because the computer and all is set for turbo. He says a good used one runs for about $500, so I guess I'll start saving my pennies and start hunting lol. So if you guys can keep an eye out, that would be awesome.

that thing is drivable just put a 2x4 where the shock as and bolt that thing in u'll be fine lol

atually i could weld some thick plate steel in place. and kind of fix that. lol.
but that would involve a lot of driving on no shock. its a goner. as for the daytona if you can finda bloc kit can be kind of quick. jsut remember its an early turbo car. so its gonna need some upkeep to survive.
