Hey guys,

This is for a 2002 Focus SVT, 128.5k miles.

I have some serious clunking in the front end and I am fairly certain it is due to the tie rods, sway links, and ball joints.

I know for sure that my sway links need to be replaced, as well as my driver side ball joint and tie rods so I assume the passenger side is close behind.

This noise has been around for quite some time now but limited funds and time have forced me into "do what you can to get by" mode.

The clunking is scary loud now so I have to make these repairs happen.

A little over two years ago I replaced tires with brand new Nexens. A month later I put on all new strut assemblies all around with that Ford Racing SVT suspension package. Since then I have put 7k miles on the car and rotated the tires once.
Checked this morning and the inside edge of my front tires are damn near bald.

I am going to replace the:

- Front Sway Links

- Inner Tie Rods

- Outer Tie Rods

- LCA (with ball joint and LCA bushings assembled)

Here's What I Need TO Know:

1) Will replacing these parts fix my problem?
2) Are these the correct parts to order?
3) For the LCA's, which model do I go with?

Looking to order ASAP and any help is appreciated. Thanks everybody!

Moved to the Brakes, Suspension & Chassis section.

1. Can't say it'll solve all your problems, but with what you've mentioned is obviously shot it'll help a LOT.

2. looks good at a glance, trust you to order rights & lefts.

3. Moog has different quality levels on some parts - ball joints in particular. IIRC there may even be a std., cheap, & better quality version to make three possibilities - at least two. I can't tell from the listing for sure, the "cheaper" one looks like a better one from the description. I'd try calling them for some confirmation on what you want.

alrighty, I ordered it all! had to use car part kings instead of summit for the driver LCA because everything shipped 12/29 except for that driver's LCA (which ships 1/12/15....)

Mods can delete this post if so desired.
