kind of a minor thing but cus im low on money i dont want to buy to much

i was wondering how many cans of VHT nightshade i would need for my tails(sedan),sidemarkers,emblems

how many cans of paint for eye lids on my headlights
i already have one can of black high temp paint
i think that might be enough

but do u guys think that the black will match the pitch black of my car
i dont want it to be noticable differance in color

and how many cans of clearcoat
ill be buyin the tiny cans by duplicolor

i appreciate the help

I did all my lenses with one sir.

Also BTW.....i used 96 cent goss black from walmart. And well it came out identical.

I would order two cans of nightshade to be safe. It sucks not having enough to finish the project. I did my side markers this weekend, and then noticed a crack in my aftermarket tails, so I decided to tint my stock tails until I get something new. I got one full coat on and then ran out.


With the tiny cans of duplicolor, I'd say get at least 3-4 cans of the clear, they don't hold much.

Oh yeah...Massive has the nighshade in stock right now, so get your order in.

yea usually some places have like 2 can specials. i got 2 cans for 30 bucks when i ordered mine last month

I did it with one can but I'd buy two to be safe. My tails didnt come out as well as I wanted so I need to buy another can.

Snack, how do you go about doing it with black paint? Just really light coats?

Please please please don't just use black paint. the light wouldn't come through and it could come out uneven. The nice thing about nightshade is that it doesn't show layers. Paint would show the layers that you would put on. Also, if you were going to get complete coverage, you would be blocking out all of the light...and prob get pulled over or rear-ended

oh...yeah....cheap paint is fine, just prime, sand, paint, sand, clear, sand, wax......I've used the cheap stuff and it works fine to paint with...

im just making eye lids
a slight sliver on the top of the lens to give it an agressive look
