so i decided to go to Advanced auto and pick me up some fiber wrap for my exhaust, seeing as i don't have the heat shield anymore. so i picked it up, went back to work, worked for the rest of the day, went home, ripped off my exhaust, wet down the wrap, wrapped her up nice and tight................... wow, I'm an IDIOT, in all my rushing to get home and start this project, i forgot to grab clamps to hold down the wrap. DANGIT. what do i do now, cant drive anywhere or ill shoot flames into my fans and radiator. i really don't want to take it all off again, it was enough of a hassle feeding 50 feet of wrap through a 1.5 inch slot between the pipes. come on now. DANGIT. ok ok ok, my buddy's still working. ill call him, YESSSS hes on his way. alright, uh ohh, its getting dark, hope he gets here soooon. ok there he is, mint. im all set, as darkness fell, i finished only half of my wrap job, got cylinder 1 and 4 wrapped, and it looks pretty good for only being half done. now its time to do cylinder 2 and 3. this time ill pick up some clamps, so i dont have to do that again. Kinda PO'd though, i had to get some high temp spray to put on it, and they only had black, but whatever, it looks nice under the hood, and ill get pictures when she's all buttoned up. heard some people were looking into getting black wrap. so it will kinda be a "preview" of what it would look like. [hihi]

I usually keep a couple of bags of stainless steel zip ties around for just this type of emergency.

03OrangeSVT, do you have a source for the SS zip ties?
yocrew, what do you mean by "heavier duty" SS clamps. Source?

I think he meant, and correct me if i'm wrong. Just straight up SS clamps, not those nickel plated cheapos. You can get bags of 10 at home depot, for pretty low cost.

thanks you guys. well appreciated. and yea, i used the good hose clamps instead of the POS ones you buy at advanced that just connect and you pull tight. got a chance to finish up the wrap today at work, punched out early and wrapped it up tight. coated it with the black high temp spritz and re-installed. ill tell you this much, using a lift at work is much easier than lying on the ground in my driveway. it didn't smoke as much as i thought it would, until i got driving. it smoked pretty heavily and people were staring. but its all smoked out now. I'm not sure how to post pics, ill snap um tonight, so if someone could tell me how to post them, ill get on that a little l8r.

yup. gotta "re-up" my supplies at home so i don't have to call for back up.

lol......remind me not to do that. anyway, get a free photobucket account, and it's really easy to upload from there, then just copy the code from the one that says it's for messages boards, then just paste here.... and to make things easier, when you're uploading to photobucket, make it so your image size is 800x600, our maximum allowed size here, lol [:D]
