ok so i've been very frustrated because it seems like everything is just breaking on me...i've replaced too many parts in the last week and yet another thing has gone wrong. when i was backing out of my driveway i heard a pop and noticed there was a stud with a bolt attached to it in my driveway. when i got under my car i found that i had a stud snapped from my left suspension. the thing is i don't really know what the part is. i think it's a tie rod or something like that but it's attached to the shock near the top and then attaches to the lower control arm. what is this part, and is it going to cost me a lot to replace?

^^ that's what it sounds like to me too, but it wouldn't be "attached" to the shock, just to the sway bar near the middle-top of the spring/shock.

You can get a new rod with links for $20 or so. I had to replace mine recently.
