Hopefully someone will have some advice for me. I have a 2001 Ford Focus wagon and after it has been running for about 20-30 minutes, I find that the rear brake lights stay on even when the break pedal is not depressed. I replaced the break light swith near the break pedal but it did not help the problem. Any ideas?

Look for shorts in the rear hatch wiring harness as a first step. Causes all sorts of odd electrical behaviour.
