OK ,,,, Got a good one , The brake lights on my sons 2002 ZX 5 stay on when the car is running or ignition is in on position and in gear but work normally when it is in park with ignition on !! Any one have any ideas ?? I checked the rubber joint by the hatch for broken wires and all seem good , Changed brake light switch too and same problem , Pulling my hair out !!!!!!!!!!!![rant]

ZX-5 does that have a hatch that has an umbilical with wires running to the hatch?
If so, then check out the wires inside the umbilical for wires that are cracked/shorted/open.
In your case the insulation could be cracked and shorting out to another wire.
To repair be sure to use electronic solder and heat shrink tubing. Splices are at either side of that umbilical not inside.
I just checked Ebay there are two Ford Focus 2002 wiring manuals at ~ $11.00 including shipping
