I am freakin pissed!!!! I just got beat in the 1/8 by about 4 car lengths by a '92 Civic with nothin but exhaust.....is this normal or was it me...I am also experiencing flow problems(cat)...should I have spanked him or what...I have a 2001 Zetec 5 speed with flowmaster

probally not, those nasty rice burning honda are quick for only having 100 or so HP. it also depends on the model. HP ranges on those from 70- 110 so it really depends. not to mention your car weighs like 600 lbs more then his.

its not uncommon for those older civics to have the newer 160hp motors in them.

my buddies 94 hatch, only had header and exaust and CAI and beat a 2.3 duratec with exaust. crazy that car has over 150 HP and he had only 110 or so. and both were MXT's so go figure, he was trying to f*** with SVT's and I told him no way- later on he wrecked it, so never found out, glad it didnt race an SVT because I didnt want him to be embarassed.

I hate hondas- go rice go

It doesn't surprise me that a civic could beat a focus for numerous reasons. A stock zx2 will take a stock civic but not a civic si. A zx2 s/r with take a civic si. We all know a stock zx2 will take a focus. Main reason for this is the vehicles weight and the fact that the zx2 gearing is a little better for the 1/4 mile. However the zx2 trans is a weak pile of crap, compared to the focus. My advice is to turbocharge that sucker and show those imports what up. Oh yeah their is such a thing as a zx2 s/r. I use to own one before it was totalled, here is a picture if you dont believe me that there is such a thing as a zx2 s/r

I remember you and your catalytic converter problem, if you haven't got that resolved yet, yes, that will suck you dry of power.

well I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has had some bad luck against those freakin ricers.....however, if I do anything, I'm going supercharged...not turboed 1) too high maintenance 2) not as reliable......anyways I need to get the cat fixed and run it again...I feel that I might could take him.....by the way it's the 4dr with DOHC

^^ if it was a 4dr. and had a DOHC in it then he had a engine swap. they only came with 1.5 SOHC in them stock. and they didnt make SI's in 4 doors only hatches in that year.

yep, they prolly put the DOHC vtec sticker on the side too , or they might have a swap, never know with those ricers- they are tricky, tricky, tricky

thats true, they could of also went with the 1.8 integra swap, for some reason that swap is getting more popular then ever, thats 140 HP not to mention bolt ons they might have.

even an SVT would have trouble keeping up with that. and thats sad.

you have to think those cars are tinker toys, you can swap anything in them, Our foci are real engines , they just lack alittle performance and the car is too damm heavy. but we have our bros and sis in europe to take care of them - bring on the RS they don't stand a chance.

sohc 1.6L civic with 120hp does 1/4 mile in 16.2

dohc 2.0 B18C 170hp with chip does 1/4 mile 13.9

hondas are easy to make fast and there so dam light. To bad in the end even with them done up there just another Honda.

well I know it was DOHC because he popped the hood and it said 16 valve on the valve covers...which are metal so it wasn't slapped on
