I’m wanting to do some modding to the stock main positive cable.
But without cutting it, I don’t know what gauge it is.
Anyone know the stock gauge size?

Anyone know the gauge?
Rumor is, it’s anywhere from 8 Gauge to a 6 Gauge.

I’d like to know without needing to cut first…

Yeah, that’s on the agenda for the Big-3 cable upgrade later on.

Right now I’m just wanting to mod the stock cables.
Which is why I wish to know the gauge.

Pulled the trigger & did the mod anyway.
After cutting, found the Alt., Starter, Bat. cable is 6-Gage. Fairly long too.

My modification is basically cutting the main Bat. cable at after the starter’s T-junction.
. Then moving the remaining Alt. lead up top & across the back of the eng.
Also managed to cut about an additional unessary 10” off the remaining Alt. lead.
Making the total length of the Alt. lead less than ½ of what it was & have to travel.
Thus removing a fair amount of resistance in the cable.
.
It’s not in the photos, but I buttoned down the lead & zip-tied things back into place.

Still plan on doing the Big-3, but that’s for another time.
