It usually indicates that something is wrong with the charging system. Take it somewhere and have them check your alternator.
battery light is on?
My car is running fine, seems to start up just as quick is it usually does, all my lights are illuminated fine, but my batter light is on in the gauges. What can I check first on my own and should I bring it to a shop to have it looked at. Is there any common problems that happen on foci wit this light.

well its the alternator, $290 ands its gettinf fixed tomorrow, also hit a pothole yesterday and I need a new conti.

hah I take that back, they went to replace the alternator today and turn out it was only a severed wire, dont ask me how cuz I didnt ask or look but 113 sure beats 305. I think thats why it also pays off to only have one shop work on your cars because in a situation like that they could have easily just changed the alternator still and I would have payed more in labor.
