2002 Ford Focus - ZX3 96k miles,, runnning great..

My battery light started comming on about 2 weeks ago only when I used the Air..
Now it stays on all the time,,,

Battery terminals were real dirty,, I cleaned them up and charged the battery [ didnt act low,, car started good and all lights are bright, runs great ]

Im pretty good with a meter,, where shoud I go first...

Easy, with clean terminals and a charged battery, put your meter right on your battery. with the car running you should see 13-14 volts. 14.2 14.4 is great, but anywhere in the 13's is okay. If its below 13 volts ( actually 12.6 ) you need an alternator.

Even if your battery is charged fine it still can be bad due to your COLD CRANKING AMP. if they aren't putting out enough your Battery is done for.

I new battery from the dealer is about 85 bucks and at stores maybe they will be about 65. If you put a new battery in and are still having problems with starting or lights dimming then i would go right for the ALTERNATOR.
