I have a 2002 ZX5, 2.0L Zetec DOHC that the idle trys to drop out when it's cold. It does this a couple of times in the morning when I drive to work while the engine temp is cold and I come to a stop. As soon as the engine gets up to temperature, it idles fine but I do notice a little fluxuation in the idle at stop lights, but nothing major.

Anyone with an idea, DPFE, IAC, MAF, EGR...???

Does your focus pop any codes when it happens? The reason I ask is that I had it happen to my focus (01 zx3 dohc) twice, but hasn't happened since (around four months ago / same thing early morning, coldish). Mine didn't pop any codes, so I didn't even bother since it only occured twice, but if anyone has any suggestions, we're all ears.

How many miles??? your spark plugs could be old, and clean your MAF.

I did a complete tune-up about 2 months ago and replaced plugs, plug wires, FF, PCV valve, installed K&N intake... I think that's it.
The car drives great and I get around 27-29 mpg in the city so I can't complain too much but it's those little things that drive me nuts. I've been tinkering with cars all my life so when something happens that I know isn't normal, I just have to find out why and fix it.
Also, cleaned the MAF but not the TB.
