I've been on a ghost hunt for the last month trying to find the cause of a metallic-y rattle only under load. Car has a stock header and a stock flex but everything else is aftermarket w/ new gaskets, band clamps, and wurth exhaust paste. I've ruled out a leak. The flex pipe is the last thing I can think of. The previous owner did put a hose clamp around it so I'm thinking it's that. Question is for the guys who have replaced their flex. What did your bad flex pipe sound like?

I think that hose clamp was a tsb fix because mine has it as well.

Just saying, when my friend get bored on the weekend so we disconnect there axleback v band mufflers on the new stangs but clamp the tailpipe down with clamps they do rattle and inside the cab it sounds like the car is falling apart you don't really hear it outside. Just yeah was just chiming in that if it is a hose clamp that will rattle.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just curious if the flex is the culprit. Don't really want to replace it if I don't have to. Anyone have a flex that vibrates?
