Azeni RT-615's Are Here!

Oh, how I love to come home and see something new stacked up outside the shop! [clap]
Yes, the new Falken Azeni Rt-615's have arrived.
The perfect compliment for the new KYB AGX's. [:D] [driving]

========================
They have one last quality assurance test to pass though...
"The Labrador Sniffing Test"...yes...yes...I believe they approve. [thumb]
Now, to keep Auggie Doggie from peeing on them. [eek]

FYI:
225/45/17 to be mounted on stock 04 SVTF wheels.
Stock springs. No drop.
More to come...

But, surprisingly, they aren't really any taller.
Especially considering there's absolutely nothing left of the Hankooks.

Left:
Hankook R-S2 215/45/17
Outside of tire is on left.

Right:
Falken Azeni RT-615 225/45/17
Outside of tire is on right.

I just picked them up from being mounted.
They do look a bit narrower now that they're on the rim.
Anxious to get home and check fitment.

I still can't believe how wide they are.
I looked closely at focusedaddiction's RT-615s in 215/40/17.
Pretty much the same width, if not a hair narrower than the Hankooks.
That's the main reason I opted for the 225s, to get some more width.
But now I'm thinking...
The 215s run a bit narrow (or "normal"), and the 225s run a bit wide.

Yes, I'm praying right now I don't have any rubbing problems.
In all the reading and conversations I've had (thanks Carrera26),
there seems to be a 50/50 split with that size between rubbing or not rubbing.

Stay tuned. [:D]

Oh, y2kpedo...no problem on the SVTF rim fitment. [;)]

^^Nope, the 615's don't come in a 225/40-17. If you want a 225, you have to go with the 45 series which is about as much tire as your going to fit on an SVT with stock rims and springs.

Sure...there's lots of clearance when it's up on jackstands.
Dammit...quit taking pictures, and get that thing on the road!

Outstanding!! [:D] [driving]
NO RUBBAGE...nada...nil...non-existent.
And, I tried.
If you take a scale from 1-5 with 1 being the smoothest, to 5 being the bumpiest...
I took several 3's and a handful of 4's, and heard...nothing...just silence from the fender wells.
BTW, our 3's are more than likely equivalent to most people's 4's or 5's.

So, there ya go.
I'm one of the lucky 50% that don't get rubbing with the 225/45/17's.
Score!

Oh, that picture was taken just above The Gates of the Mounains.
About 10 minutes north of our house.

I only get rubbing from the fender well plastic I believe and not the fender itself. It only occurs under full compression while turning or if I hit the bumpstops (never seen any marks on the tires from it and remember I'm on +42mm offset wheels), and the same I believe goes for SteelRain on his 225/45/17 Kumho Victoracers on stock rims. However, I rarely hear it occur, and I think you should be good for regular driving with it only occurring rarely during autocrossing.
