When the fluid is cold or when I am backing uphill (usually out of my driveway) I get a loud hum from my auto tranny. Its kind of like a resonant hum. I know it doesnt seem loud outside the car compared to when sitting inside. There is absolutely no hum when it is warm and backing downhill or on a level surface.

The transmission works fine riding along in all forward gears, in or out of OD.

I checked the tranny fluid and its not dark or smell like its burnt. There is also no apparent leaks (no puddle, no low level on dipstick). Any ideas?

I havent owned it long and its under warranty for the next 30,000 miles or 2 yrs. 2002 SPI Twilight Blue Sedan- auto transmission.
