Does anyone have any information on this?

The car in question is a 2000 se wagon with a dual cam. The current transmission code (on the transpan) says xs4p-df.

The trans is slipping pretty badly right now, so its time to switch. Thing is, when i call a junkyard they all ask me for this code. Some have different transmissions with codes.

How does a xs4p-df differ from a xs4p-de or a xs4p-d2e?

Which other transmissions can i swap this with?

I searched on this and did not find any info, sorry if i missed something.

thats what i thought, so why do they always demand to know if its a df de or d2e... its like they think some are completely different... why did ford put this online anyways?

even when i call ford they asked for my VIN to tell me which one to get. they of course wouldnt tell me anything else though. just that they want 3 grand for it. LOL
