at the moment i have no motor or trans. i am trying to buy a 2.0 zetec and atx trans to replace what i had. i see there are a couple different numbers for the trans. will all the atx trans work?(i do realize i cant use the newer 4speed that comes with duratec) but whats the difference in the atx trans that comes with 00-04 focus?? help me please so i dont buy the wrong thing

I was under the impression that the Duratecs still uesd the 4f27e transmissions, just with a different bellhousing. Could be wrong on that.

In any case, that is what it's called. Should be easy to find at scrapyards since the Focus is so common. If you don't have any luck with that, give Mike at Hilbish Ford a call, he might could give you some advice on that.
