I'm going to be getting my windows tinted in November (the earliest the guy had an open appointment on a weekend--has high reviews and gave me the lowest quote for the Llumar), which gives me a lot of time to do research on "exotic" light tints.

I've found the 3M Crystalline series to be a direct competitor (the 70 series), but the Llumar seems to be a good combination of price and heat rejection. I'm not used to having tints in my car, so I want a really light shade, but will still keep the car cool.

Are there any competitors that I just don't know about that I may wish to consider here?

I have LLumar air blue 80 on all my windows and I end up with this nice subtle light blue tint almost as blue as the AMG Benzes of early 2000 to 2011 or so. It's still plenty warm inside the car after baking in the sun and if I could do it again, I'd get the front windshield tinted with air blue 80 as well.

Thanks! I'd never heard of them, but found that as of 3 years ago, my local tint specialist carried them. Shot them an email to hear more about price.

Found out about Huper Optik tints. Apparently, they have the best TSER, but are supremely expensive or so it seems.

I might just stick with the Blues if the V-Kools are more expensive than my $399 quote for the Blues (all around, except front windshield).

I also have always wanted to get light tints. And on the windshield. (Whenit is allowing 80 or 90% of the visible light through What cop is going to check?)

But i am afraid to go to the places which sell and install it. They all seem rather 'shifty'..
But then a really upright place woud never Do the windshield! LOL [bigcry]

3m crystalline performs much better then the llumar. I have had both on a few cars. Currently we install 3m crysatalline at my shop. We do 4 doir cars in crystalline for 399. 399 for air blue is slightly high. 3m crystalline costs alot more then the llumar. I have been in the game a long time. And the best performing tint job i have seen is crystalline all aroind. Generally we do crys40 on all windows and cry 70 on the windshield. The glare reduction and the "polarized" effect the crstalline has that the llumar lacks makes a big difference aswell. While huper optics and others make great films aswell in high end performance of films 3m crystalline is top if the list in my experiance installing it and useing it on my own cars.
