I am changing my alternator and I have eveything loose, I just can't get it out.


Any suggestions?

It's tricky, but it will come out. Twist and turn it til you find a way.
Have heard of someone removing a motor mount and shifting the motor forward.

I had to remove the pass motor mount and dogbone, You can pull the engine forward and point the alt pulley to the sky and wiggle it around it will come out....at least for a zetec. Get a buddy the hold the engine back while you work.

That's what I wound up doing too. Jacked the motor up about 6inches and put a comealong to it and also took off the white ground plug.

Came right out!


Two hours after I freakin started on it.


stupid Focus......

I gave up and have been doing it the easy way: I drop it out the bottom. Much less headaches, just don't drop it, or you'll have a REAL headache. Ouch!
