that is the number of revolutions it takes for that tire to go one mile, it is used to calculate with a programmer to compensate for larger/smaller tires to keep your speedometer true

Just a technicality...
You asked for wheel sizes, but you're listing tire sizes...
Which is it you really need?

I'm assuming it is in fact tires, so you can add:
225/40/17 (Only 1 tire in this size. "Nitto" NT-555)
225/45/17 (Requires standard SVT wheel offset (49mm) and mild (standard models) or no drop (SVT models))
^^^OK, so that's a lot of "requirements", but I did run 2 sets in that size (stock suspension/wheels) with no problems.

Probably not, there's only about 1/4" or so with my 205/55 between the tire and the front strut, and a wider tire (215/50 in this case) would be even closer to it.

I believe those are 6" wide wheels so I'd say more than likely, but possibly no only because of the tall sidewall. You would need to check the tire mfg's website to see if it is approved to mount on a 6" wide wheel. I know someone who ran a 225 and rubbed on the strut a little. It would be a tight squeeze.

Okay, I'll stay away from it just to be safe. I'm looking into winter tires for the SVT, I guess I'm leaning toward Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D, but they are $99 each at tirerack right now. :( Anybody found good deals on tires this year?

How size 195/55R-16 for winter tires for vehicles that originally came with 205/50R-16? I know it's not a common size, but it's out there. And very close to overall diameter.

For snow tires, it's actually better to run a taller, narrower tire...that way they cut through the snow a little easier. The problem with a 195/55-16 is that it's a lot harder to find inexpensive snow tires.

Yeah, That's what I found also. Not many choices for 195/55R-16 snow tires. Many places in my area have to special order that size for extra premium prices. I 'll use 205/55R-16 for now. Many more choices.

Thanks everyone?

Anyone know if a 225/60/R15 tire will fit on a stock ZX3 suspension? I need some winter tires and found a great deal for a set of these. They will only be on for the winter months..

Just from a practicality standpoint, narrower is better for a snow tire, especially on icy or snow packed roads where most snow tires are really needed. 225/60-15 is a really big tire. A 195/60-15 would be the preferred size. The 225/60 is almost 1.5 inches bigger in diameter than the 195/60 which is considered stock replacement size.
