I bought a 2009 Focus car used. The airbag light stays on. I took it to an auto parts store and they read B1231 crash data memory full. I do not know if airbags were deployed. What do I need to do to fix this?

Better check to see if they even put bags back in it. Some crooks simply stuff rags where the bags went.

Once tripped the bag module has to be wiped clean and all bags must be good and present and any belt pretensioners too.

If nobody said anything about wreck you might look closer at it for crash fixes say underneath.

How do I check if there are airbags? It looks normal by looking at it.

My understanding of this, you have to have the airbag module reset. Places like myairbags, safetyrestore advertise for $49. It is supposed to be under the center console.

There are a couple of misalignments in the body but nothing that affects operation. Otherwise I have not seen anything.
