I took my 2003 Focus SE Wagon in because I was concerned about a change in the noise of the engine. My mechanic told me the air intake manifold is cracked!
Cost of repair $800. Ouch.
Is there anyway of patching it????

I'm not sure about patching it, although it is plastic so I dont see why not. But if you cant Central Florida Motorsports has a after market one they make that is 150.00 more than they want to charge you for that stock one at the shop you took it to. Food for thought.

i mean depending on how much its cracked you could scuff up the outside and then jb weld over it. or just go to a junkyard and find one for like 50 bucks

dude, the IM is an extremely easy install. I took mine off a while back to port it out and put it back on. Total removal and re-install is about 1 hr!!!! just go to the junkyard and pic one up for 20 bucks!!!

I've got a ported 2001 manifold w/ an EGR block-off plate for for sale. $30 shipped if you want it.

Thank-you so much for the offer of the intake manifold. Someone here in canada from focuscanada.ca had one dropped off at my house.
I have read that I need to buy new gaskets. I called around and only the dealer carries them here.
