I just ordered one from www.solidsignal.com for $319.99 plus $8 shipping. That was the best price I found. Still deciding on the camera though. Oh yeah, solid signal has a not underlined in bold that this does NOT work with MFT that did not have a factory camera installed - however, Coastal eTech has a posting that says it DOES work - they're the makers, trust their site.
Have you recieved your lockpick yet?

If that's the back of the 8" touch screen, mine didn't look like that at all. I didn't see a coax cable input, just the main harness and two other non-coax inputs. It looks identical to the video Lockpick has up on their webpage with an all metal body.

This is the back of the 4.3" screen in the SE. It looks from the sticker that it is called MFD instead of MFT.
I think that is the My Ford display. I agree with the previous poster that the MFT has no RCA connectors on it anywhere.

My question to you is if you are using the Lockpick and you want to view the camera while driving, will comnecting it to thw brake light allow you to do that?
Check out my thread at http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4778749&posted=1#post4778749 for details on installing the Lock Pick 2. To answer your question, no - you have to connect power to the LP orange/black wire and ground to the LP ground, both on the LP harness behind the MFT screen.

On the SE this coaxial connector is not connected to anything. The head unit (with CD) has two antenna connectors which are both used.

I would guess the "coaxial" connector above might be the satellite antenna jack, but I'm not sure of that.
The antenna port is on the head unit. We need some who has a 13 se with camera to check thiers

I'm working up the motivation to tear apart my dash to check. The camera/park assist overlays the radio display (and the radio has no settings for it), so I guess it would make sense if it went directly into the display unit.

On mft cars with camera it is fed directly to the back of the display, so it would make sense that the non mft SE's w/cam are fed the same way.

Metra dash kit & backup camera working great!

I found this thread very helpful when researching after market backup camera options, so I wanted to report back that I ended up with a Metra double DIN dash kit, a bunch of Axxess interface parts, a Boyo backup camera and just a Pioneer AVH-X2500BT double DIN unit. I also had an extra dash-mounted USB & 3.5 mm port installed and connected to the Pioneer unit. Here are the part numbers:

99-5827B Metra DIN & DDIN (Double DIN) dash replacement kit for Ford Focus 2012 and newer
AX-ADBOX1 Axxess Interface Control Box With Digital Fade
AX-ADFD02 2011-UP Ford Axxess ADBOX Harness
40-EU10 European Antenna Adapter (FAKRA)
ASWC-1 AXXESS Steering Wheel Control
Boyo license plate frame backup camera
AVH-X2500BT Pioneer 2-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver

The ASWC-1 steering wheel control needed a firmware upgrade to work with my Focus. It was a pain waiting a couple of months for them to develop it while I had no buttons to control any Sync functionality, but now it works great! For reference, the firmware version that did the trick was 257291_268_ASWC-USB_V316.

Since the parts you need depend on the options in your Focus, here are the details on what I have:

2012 Ford Focus SE
AM/FM Stereo Single CD/MP3
Auxiliary audio input jack
USB port
Equipment group 203a
* Convenience package
* Cruise control
* Perimeter alarm
* MyFord & Sync Package
* MyFord Tech/6 speakers/Sirius
* Sync Voice activated systems
SE Sport package
6-spd Auto transmission with select shift (SST)
Power moon roof

The guys at SoundWave Mobile Electronics in San Carlos, CA here in the Bay Area did a great job with all the installation, troubleshooting and working with the manufacturers!

How much did you have to pay for the components and/or installation there?

My car is an SE sedan with the factory camera. It is seperate from the release handle/licence plate light and offset to one side:
This means you had paid for MFT to have the factory camera already installed on your car?

I think the lockpick 2 takes care of the non equipped issue. Check this out:http://www.coastaletech.com/focuslockpick.htm
I've read this a couple times on this thread, but I'm not completely understanding.

On the non Ti, non-MFT models (such as the SE), is the camera already physically installed on the car and disabled or is the camera not at all installed in the car?

I'm not understanding if it's the latter how the lockpick can activate a non-equipped camera if there physically isn't one there.

On MFT equipped cars WITHOUT the backup camera, there is no camera installed on the car. If you use a lockpick to activate the camera input on the MFT unit, you still need to install a camera on the rear of the car.

Check the DIY sticky.

Mine is a factory camera, but without MFT. It was possible (at least for MY2013) in Canada to get an SE without MFT but with the camera (and sensors/park assist). I paid for that (it was called the "Parking Technology Package"), but it was substantually less than getting MFT.

It was a really rare option and I had to factory order to get the configuration I wanted. A shame, because the parking tech is really worth it and made the Focus stand out from the competition at that trim level.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm starting to get into cars so this is a bit new to me.

Bah, of course they wouldn't bring that perfect package over to the US. That's all I want!

Yup, that's the OEM camera. People freak out because they think they have to drill a hole in the steel door skin, but it is just a plastic cover that houses the camera and tailgate latch. Here are a few pics from my ebay camera install with rear latch button and LED light:

Just for meh, here are a few pics of my recent headlight mod:
Hi,

I read in another post of yours (which redirected me to this thread) that you have actually added an after market camera. (note that I cannot see the pictures that you posted a few years back on the quoted post)

First things first, I live in EU (Greece) so most likely we will have quite a few differences in our cars. Note that I have a different car model than yours. However I have navi, so I guess that's a good first step.

Even though I haven't yet opened my display to check it out, I already have purchased and waiting for some adapters that I need to add on the back of the APIM ~ pins 14 and 15 (due to the fact that 8" display does not have an RCA connector).

Anyway, would you happen to remember any steps or have a guide or something that I could follow?
I would like to avoid lockpick, navtv etc (I don't even know if they work on EU models) in order to keep the cost as low as possible.
