when i turn my ac on and let the cars rpms return to idle the car either goes to 200 rpm and then comes back up or goes to 200 rpms and dies. what could be causing this to happen?

alt. going bad.. electrical system not gronuded somewhere properly.. battery... the fact that its a 4-cly engine, and blasting a/c an a 4 cyl engine will bog it like no other...

my best guess is something to do with the charging system... either a weak alt., a weak battery, or poor grounds....

You may have a dirty/sticking Idle air control valve.I find this often with Fords that have >100k on the odometer.
