i have just renewd a abs rear sensor on my wifes w reg focus because it got damaged when the wheel bearing broke, but the abs lights on the dash are still on does this mean that it has to be reset if so can it be done without going into a garage ????
It should reset itself, as far as I remember Tha ABS system runs a diag on itself every time you start the engine & drive. Does the ABS light come on as soon as the engine is started , or after a few seconds of driving? Try this, remove battery for like 15mins, reconnect, switch igition to on, abs light on? If so it can not see all sensors, if off, try a short drive, if it comes on, during this then a signal is messed up,this only as a guide. A diag is the simplest.
i had an issue with this when the dealer replaced my wheel bearing, they apparently put the wrong sensor on or something not sure how but they fixed it for free when i told them what had happened
Get a cheap OBD reader. This way you can read codes and clear them easily.
