Hello-

Recently I changed out the rear bearings/drums on a 2001 Ford Focus SE Wagon. However, mistakenly I did not transfer the reluctor rings over to the new drums. Of course, both the ABS and red Brake dash lights are now on.

Can I drive this car without the rings? I called my local Ford dealership and he said it was safe to drive but the lights would remain on. Just wanted to see if anyone had a further opinion on this as it is a daily driver. Thanks.

It's safe to drive. ABS was an optional extra so there are lots of Foci out there without ABS. You won't do any harm.

PS And you're not the first one to forget to transfer them over to new drums.

Yeah, I had no clue that you have to pry the old one off. I was looking for a geared tooth tone ring and didn't see it only to find out its a totally different design.
