Having a problem with a 2004 ford focus zx3.

The AC blows cold, but the fresh air/ recirculate button doesn't do anything, it will only blow fresh air. The light will come on if you press it for recirculate, but will still blow only fresh air. The light stays on even if you turn the car off and turn it back on.

Any one have any ideas?

I got the car from CarMax. So going through some finger pointer as to who is going to do the warranty work, carmax or Ford. So was hoping some one would know a quick fix. Like maybe a connector loose or some circuit shorted that I could check.

Carmax will NOT do any work on the car as that will void Fords existing warranty on the vehicle. All they will do is take the car straight to Ford as an "intermediary" (sp). My advice to you is to take the car to Ford yourself.

P.S. Believe me I have experience as I bought my SVT from Carmax and it had nothing but problems the first 3-4 months. I got tired of dealing with Carmax' hold time then Fords hold time. Plus it's always good to get to know the dealer you will be working with.
