All amps will work with it.

8v is the potential maximum at full volume.

Most amps accept 4v, so no problem. The Arc amps are at 2.5v and I have up to actual 4v with the DRZ's DC-DC converter.

Some amps, like Zed Audio easily accept up to 8v. And they are very good amps, built like a brick [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]*house.

That Kenwoody amp and Punch sub setup is a big drop in quality compared to your Eclipse HU.

What do you want, and for how much?

The great thing about having a high pre-out voltage is the ability to keep the amp gains turned all the way down. And it increases your S/N ratio for a lower noise floor.

Remember, 1/2 volume is NOT 4 volt, not even close. (it's algarithmic)

2 things....

keep the amp gains turned down (amps designed to use less than 8v)

and max volume should never be higher than 80% or so (that goes for any HU. this keeps it within clipping range)
