Well my spi is about to die. It has 55k... so much for being bulletproof. I replaced the clutch at 50k. POS in every way. My lifter is now acting up after a night of driving too fast. However, i usually drive the spi at 70% capability so the life might be longer than that if you drive like a grandma (a.k.a. my dad.) actually, only 20k of those miles are mine and the grandma drove it before.Klondike said:^what baby said, and not cursed cuz spi if you do it right gets lotsa more torque then any of the other focus motors
How often do you change your oil? Both of my stock original motor's have around 100k and love to be beat on. I'm going on 3 year's of boost spikes and being driven like it was stolen. IN summation, drive the spi really slow like its meant to be driven. If you dont, you will be looking at a costly repair like I am now.
My oil has been changed at three thousand mile intervals (sometimes more often than that) since it was brand new. New filter every time. 5W-20 or 10W-30 Castrol. Ive had regular maintenance on it like the typical radiator flush, fluids check, brake replacements, and tire rotation. Basically, ive done everything that i am suppost to do as its owner. Recently, I took the car over to goodyear for its oil change. NOW I check their work and wabaaam the coolant is well below the minimum line. Those freakin idiots cant even fill up my fluids!
