ive heard of people running 235/40/17s on 17x7 42 offset rims and was wondering if anyone has run 235/45/17s.

they should fit the rim better than a 235/40, but it would be 25.4" tall, which is kind of tall. would it rub? im planning on raising my front suspension about 3/4" to 1" and the back about 1/2" to 3/4". also getting some koni shocks/struts and rolling the fenders. i have the 1/6" frpp suspension which has 330lb/in springs in the front and progressive rear.

if i dont get the 235/45s ill be getting 225/45s

i would think u'd rub with that size. I have the FRPP kit and 215/40/17's and i barely get out of rubbing. I also have 40 offset wheels as well.

if you want a 325 wide tire you wanna look into a 235/35/17 thats the proper upsize from a 215/45/17. Or 235/30/17 will give you a little more room

and even a 225/45/17 is gonna be too tall still in my opinion with your drop, if you want a 225 wide look for a 40 or 35 series, and once again the proper upsize from 215/45/17 to a 225 wide is 225/40/17.

any the the sizes you have listed in your post are gonna rub, and rub often

i would need wider wheels for 235/35/17 or 235/30/17s.. ive never heard of anyone running those sizes.. i just want wide tires on my rims and ive seen people run 235/40s and was wondering if anyone has done 235/45s. 25.4" is pretty tall, but its less than an inch taller than what i have now. and if i raise the car, it shouldnt rub the fender then right? especially with new stiff shocks/struts..

and the 225/45/17 will be fine with stiff koni shocks/struts. ive seen tons of people who run them and dont have problems. and if i have any problems, which i doubt i will, ill roll the fenders some..

but has anyone heard of foci running 235/45s?

Minimum rim width for a 235/40 is 7.5" and recommended is 8". All you are doing is addding weight to your wheel and decreasing performance. A 215/45 would out perform the 235/40 on a 7" rim.
