Yes! It's a very popular if not the most popular replacement size if you're looking for a wider tire. Just make sure you don't use crazy low offset wheels. 45 to 49mm is ideal and works with most reasonable drops if you have one or intend to add one. 42mm tends to work without rubbing with stock suspensions but gets iffy with drops or wider wheels. This tire size works best on 7"x17" rims.
I have some crappy michelin 215/45/R17's on my 2004 SVT Focus with the stock rims. Looking at some GoodYear F1 Asymmetric tires at either a 215/45/R17's or back to stock 225/45/R17's or possibly 225/45/R17's...
Any suggestions on what size i should go and how good these tires are? I do not race but the price is only about $80 each right now.
