Hey guys! I wanted to try and get everything together for the 2015 Focus Xtreme season before it begins. This will be a lot easier for everyone hopefully. Everyone can mark their calendars for the days of the meets, and hopefully plan around it and ask off work if need be. I loved the 2014 season, but I noticed a problem in the second half of the year. It became harder and harder to plan a meet with the more members we gained. There was one month that got rescheduled multiple times. I figured if we made a schedule for 2015, hopefully there will always be plenty of people to be able to make it, so we won’t ever have to change dates.

Facebook link for all of the event pages, which I'm sure will be updated more than this post. (I will try to remember to hop on here and change this post for you Jeff!)

Winter Get Together
Bluegrass Indoor Karting
Date: Saturday, February 7th
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Address: 2520 Ampere Drive
Louisville, KY 40299
Website: http://www.bluegrassindoorkarting.com/About-Us.html

This was my original idea of where I wanted to take the group last year, but never got around to planning it. I went there once after a bmx race, and it was a blast. I had so much fun, and they offer a group discount rate. The karts are the fast ones too. I couldn’t find anywhere in between Evansville and Louisville that had an indoor go kart facility.

First Meet of the Season
Jefferson Memorial Park Cruise
Date: Saturday, April 25th
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Address: 11311 Mitchell Hill Rd
Fairdale, KY 40118
Website: http://louisvilleky.gov/government/jefferson-memorial-forest

I went here for the first time this past year. I went exploring in my car, and took some of the scenic routes. I ended up getting a bit lost on some crazy amazing roads, and wished I had stayed lost for longer. Whenever I saw a scenic road sign, I took it. The roads were super twisty and fun, even with shot wheel bearings screaming at me the whole time. They were some of the most fun roads I’ve driven on. I thought it would be cool if we met up at the park and drove around. Some of us photographers could go on a hike and take pictures if everyone wants to too.

Second Meet of the Season
Holiday World/Splashin’ Safari Meet
Date: Saturday, June `13th
Time: Noon
Address: 452 E Christmas Blvd, Santa Claus, IN 47579
Website: http://www.holidayworld.com/

I figured we could meet up around noon and go in together. We could break up into groups if need be. I figured this would be a good one for FX family members to come to!

Third Meet of the Season
Iroquois Park
Date: Saturday, July 18th
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Address: 5216 New Cut Rd
Louisville, KY 40214
Website: http://louisvilleky.gov/government/parks/park-list/iroquois-park

Fourth Meet of the SeasonFocusFest Prep at Dustin’s House
Date: Saturday, August 22nd
Time: Noon
Address: (I’ll post it if Dustin say’s its fine)
Website: https://www.facebook.com/disciplerockszx3?fref=ts (Ha)

Figured we could all go up to the member’s house with the most tools…. :p

FocusFest 2015
Date: August 28th through August 29th
Address: Memphis International Raceway (15 miles outside Memphis, TN)
5500 Victory Lane
Millington, TN 38053
Website: http://www.focusfest.com/

I figured we could do what we’ve been doing the past couple of years. We could meet up at Waterfront Park, and then head to FocusFest together. The Louisville guys could meet up with the Evansville guys along the way as well. We’ll figure out the details when the time gets closer.

Fifth Meet of the season
Drive-In Movie Meet
Date: Saturday, October 10th
Time: 8:00 p.m. (Or whenever a movie starts, we’ll know when the time gets closer)
Address: Georgetown IN
Website: http://www.georgetowndrivein.com/

I was pretty excited about this idea when I thought of it. The few drive in’s left in Louisville didn’t look as nice. This one popped up on my search results, and I like the location and way it looks. Its 1.5 hours from Evansville and 30 minutes from Louisville. The date may need to be moved forward a weekend or two, depending on when their season ends. As of right now their website doesn’t say. Ironically, one of my fiancé’s good friends lives right behind this place. He should be able to give me an idea of when they usually close up for the season.

Sixth Meet of the Season
Carrollton KY Meet and Cruise
Date: Saturday, November 14th
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Address: 1608 Hwy. 227
Carrollton, KY 41008
Website: http://parks.ky.gov/parks/resortparks/general-butler/default.aspx

Very nice excited for all of these!
Thanks, me too!

Awesome. All info in one place! Hoping to make most of these!
I hope to as well! I really wish I could get this vibration in my front end sorted out. I have a feeling when the time gets closer for some of these farther away meets, I'm going to feel nervous about going. But the vibration hasn't really gotten any worse, soooo... lol I should be fine.

Quit your complainin'. Lol [smackbum][histerical] Feel free to make a meet anytime! I've been managing this while working, going to school, planning a wedding, and looking for a house, so I apologize for not getting on here sooner. Feel free to post on our Facebook group and ask if anyone wants to meet up! Our numbers actually passed 200 members recently, which is crazy and I'm pretty stoked about it! [clap][clap][clap]

The only reason I made the first meet in May is because last year the first meet of the year was in April and it got rained out if I remember correctly. Then when we rescheduled it, it started raining again. We went to David's house, and Derek fell through the ceiling. Lol So I made it May to begin with. I'll keep all of this in mind when planning the 2016 season though!

Jeff (and whoever else isn't on Facebook), the first meet of the season was moved up a week, because I didn't realize May 2nd was the derby. Lol That date is April 25th, I updated it in the above post.

Hopefully Stephen will have a car to cruise with :(
As of right now I've got a 98 Escort ZX2 to cruise around in. It's my dad's beater. Its fun. Lol I'll probably end up having to use that for the meet. Its kind of like a focus, its got the same motor and trans essentially.

Steer horns and all?
The last jump broke em off haha.

Good to know Stephen. Figured thats what you would drive.
haha! Actually my dad hit a hawk which broke the skull off the hood. Those horns that were on it at the meet, we took them off. It wasn't on too well. Lol But yeah there was a plastic fish tank skull on the hood for years, but it broke when the hawk hit it.

Haha thats pretty good. I like my cars new nickname, the ImpoSTer.
That's creative! I see a custom plate in your near future. haha

There seems to be only 4 or 5 people going to the meet later. I would cancel, but one person from out of town far away who hasn't been to a meet yet was planning on going no matter what... but we will make a rain date for this either Derby weekend or Mother's Day weekend. Rain sucks. [:(]

Honestly I couldn't go even if it was a bright sunny day. The guy who is helping me build my car, its his birthday today. My brother in law needs help with something personal, and I told him I'd help. My dad bought a used 5th wheel needing a lot of TLC, so I wanted to help with that. Ohhh yaaa and at some point I need to work on my own car... lol So hopefully whenever we reschedule this meet more people can make it! [loveff]

Next meet is a no go for me. Grandparents 65th anniversary and a graduation party. Oh well.

Catch y'all at the next one.
I've got a graduation to go to as well now too. :/ I think this meet will be small as well. I'll be going to the one in July though. And I invited all of the Louisville Ford Club that I run (it's not a big group yet, about 100 members). So hopefully there will be 20 cars or so.

Month with no meet...only 2 left. Then the exterior of the fofo goes back to stock for snow and salt and sand time.
You need a daily man! Then you can park your sedan and keep it safe from the salt and weather. [grinking]

Yeah if I buy a new car the focus will be the daily! Have to start thinking about houses and land.
I hear ya buddy. Priorities! Would you stay around the area you're in? Or move closer to Louisville? I'd live in the country right now if I could afford it. Hopefully I'll be out there again in the near future.

Gonna make it to the drive in Stephen?

Definitely stay local as I have a good place to work. Good location, nice area, wooded.
Awesome, sounds like a good plan!

I'm going to try for sure. That day of the meet I don't have anything going on that I'm aware of. As long as I get the car lowered and get the check engine light off (it's only on for the cam sensor now, we fixed all of the other issues), then I'll go. It won't look that great, but it's better than showing up in the escort. haha

I bought a hammer drill for the garage this past weekend. I have to drill through the foundation to run conduit through it to get to the garage. My only problem is since Jessi works third shift, she's sleeping when I wake up to work on the garage. On Monday and Wednesday she has classes early so I can finish drilling then. Then I can run the conduit. The week after next I have the week off work. I'm hoping to run the receptacles and wire then, and put the insulation in the ceiling. I could go out and buy an air compressor and I think I could get away with that. I'd build the bench and shelves as I had the time after that... the only issue with all of that is my buddy's dad and my dad would need to come over for parts of it, so hopefully their schedules line up. haha
