Hi there!

I just installed a aftermarket radio in my Focus, and I was wondering how I go about disabling the factory radio screen since now all it does is displays "Ford Focus" all the time.

Thanks!

well i'm assuming since you have a "S" model that you don't have sync on yours and are not trying to keep it with the new headunit. in that case the easiest way to disable the screen is just to disconnect it. the cover over the screen just pops off straight up and then remove two 7mm bolts to get the screen out and then disconnect the plug and reassemble.

Ok thanks. Does that turn off the external temperature gauge too?

As far as the harness goes, I got the harness from ebay I think?? I don't really remember. It was about $60. Hope that helps. Try looking at schoshe.com

disconnecting the harness to the screen will shut off anything that it displays. if you are wanting to keep the temp display (if you are lucky one that has that) then you will need to keep it plugged in. may have to just deal with the "ford focus" display if you want the temp .
