Hi,

We have an 08 Focus SES w/ Sync and Sirius. Sometimes when listening to the radio, the quality fades in and out. I am thinking it might be a reception issue. It'll be sounding fine, and then it'll get low and muffled, like, no trebble. I think it is only when it is on the FM. Seems like the sirius works fine. Is this something that other people have experienced? It's pretty annoying.

Thanks.

Welcome to Focus Fanatics!

I have had my 08 since mid March and I have not had that happen. It could be just a reception issue, like you said, my Explorer would do that on occasion.

i have not had that problem with mine. the only problem i have ran into is sometimes the radio makes a popping sound, especially when im listening to sirius and it looses reception. other then that its been fine. last weekend when i was installing the line out put convertor for my subs, i saw the stock speakers...wow they are so cheaply made. the next project im gonna do is replace the speakers with quality ones. i cant believe they still are using cardboard for the cones on the speakers

Try checking to see if the AVC (automatic volume control) is on or off (if your radio even has that feature). When its on, the volume changes with the ambient noise levels. If its ON, turn it off and see if the problem persists.

It does have that option, which i hate, but it is turned off. It's not a volume change, it's more like a tone change. Like if you sing a song, and than put your hand over your mouth and keep singing.

I have an 07, and I have that exact same problem. I have worked it down to reception. I justify this as it seems to occur in the same spots around town. Mostly in the city (well duh! 8-P). You might also want to check if you automatic volume is set way high. That can also cause it, or aggravate it anyway.
