So I've got a manual 5 speed 06 zx5 ses and I've had nothing but problems with the gearbox. Anyway i recently had an issue with it and it refuses to go into gear. It will slide into position for second but there is no click whatsoever. When I push the clutch all the way in the clutch feels fine but as soon as I let off of it it stalls (yes it's in neutral). I recently took the shift tower out to discover a bunch of gear oil on top of the gearbox and lots of shavings covering the outer wall of the gearbox. There is no gear oil inside of the gear box. Everything in the gear box looks perfectly fine. I know that not having fluid in the gearbox could be the result of these issues but I would like to know if anybody knows of any other causes? And should I get the gearbox rebuilt or try to flush the shavings out of there and salvage it?
