I have a new to me 2005 and have just noticed some disturbing behavior. At light load randomly (like hours between on long highway trip) I experience a sudden hard power loss for approximately 1/2 second. Then back to normal.

Overall the thing runs far too well, so I'm a bit concerned I have an intermittent sensor or electrical connection issue.

The loss is suddent and very positive, but very short.

The only new condition is a brand new battery. And that I don't know the vehicle very well.

Mine does it too! 2005 had some computer bugs. I also experience starting troubles in the winter after the car has warmed up a bit and then been shut off. Apparently you can get the PCM reflashed, but you'll pay for it.

Thanks for the help, can you provide a reference to the firmware bugs? Or just common knowledge amoungst enthusiasts? I will certainly look into it.

Any idea if parts guys know about this stuff? I find them much easier to talk to than service writers.
