Just did my first brake job on this car and had a problem get tong the retaining clip fully in place. Tried two different brands. The finally went on but not as flush as I'm used to. I got the old pads back on fine to check, so it's not a technique problem. Anyone experienced this or know how to work around this?

Yea it takes a bit to figure out how the clips go on. If they don't fit a little tight, could be you bent them some. I ran it to that the 1st time. You did replace the pads w/ new ones?

I did replace them with new pads. I've done front brakes before, lots of times, and have never run into this. It was similar with both brands.

Yes that's a problem. I used mini vise grip. Makes install a bit easier
