This may have already been posted so sorry if I missed it. I own a 2003 Ford Focus and have the nice Blaupunkt stereo with the large display. Well it is supposed to be able to play MP3 CDs and any CD I put in works for a bit but eventually I get the fateful 'CD error', CD/MP3 stops playing and it goes back to radio mode.

Any ideas why this is happening and ways to fix it besides replacing the whole stereo, which I would tend to guess fix it. Could the CD player just need a cleaning CD put in there.

Thanks ahead of time,
meisemann

This MAY work. The Blaupunkts all inevitably fail. It sounds like your Blaupunkt's time is coming. You need to eject a cd. Then pull the head unit out and unplug it. Let it sit for ten minutes or so. Then plug it back in. This seems to work for a while. But all of the Blapunkts eventually die. They are know to be pretty troublesome.
