My wife's 03 Focus is tapping pretty good under braking. The noise is coming from the back right tire. I've looked at everything and it all looks ok. The noise is speed sensitive, meaning it slows down as the car does. The drums on the back are new because the old wheel bearings went bad. They are lined up properly on the axle.

Any thoughts as to what it could be?

Anything stuck in the treads of that tire? Not sure what a tapping sounds is, but it being speed sensitive could be something like that. Is the fender liner still firmly attached, not hitting tire at all? New drums/bearings should be good, with the bearings going bad, I'm sure you can tell its not the same noise you heard when they were going.

Just a noise. I can't feel anything.

Did they change the brake shoes? If the clips on the pins don't have much tension in them, you can get movement in the shoes that causes a tapping sound. Replace them or stretch them out a little.
