Getting ready to flush and replace filter in my 2003 focus Automatic Transmission. SE 2.3L PZEV engine. I'm doing a complete flush and replacing all 6-7 Quarts of Fluid. My Question is Does Ford Recommend any additive added to the trans when you do a fluid change. I've heard from some People that "Lucas" Transmission fix is good but does Ford Have anything Specific That they sell. Or do you just add the Mercon V and leave it at that. Thank You for your Help. The Focus Has 38,000 Miles on it. THat is not a Misprint. I bought it from my Mom. Roger, Vista,Ca

Not sure what Ford recommends. I have heard people here recommend NO additives. Pure Mercon-V is a good thing. What did I use? Hmmm? Oh! Valvoline MaxLife ATF, yeah got it at autozone at a great price, a gallon jug for about 17 bucks.

Merc V ONLY................ATX are geared toward an exact viscosity, when you mess with that you have taken over the job of hydraulic systems engineer, are you ready for that??? They spend millions balancing all those hydraulic passages to work correctly with that exact fluid. Don't care what Lucas says, if they buy you two more weeks operation they think their product was justified.
