So about a month ago a family member decided she was going to donate her 2001 zx3 to goodwill cause she no longer wanted it. I heard this and asked if I could have the car instead. She agreed but wanted to warn me that it was in really bad shape. She couldn't get it to run and due to a leak in the trunk area there was a lot of mold in the car. I agreed to take the car and wow she was right.

I was able to get the car started and limped it from Des Moines to gig harbor. Wow what a fun trip that was. Long story short found after hooking a code reader up I discovered that the #1 and #3 cylinders were miss firing. I asked " hey how long ago was a tune up preformed " the answer I got back was never. Ahh well there yea go. Lol. So I went ahead and pulled the coil pack plugs and wires and since I was replacing them anyway I went with a demon coil pack complete with live wires and bosh platinum plugs. I then gapped the plugs at .65 instead of the factory .55 to take advantage of the new coils and wires hotter spark.

Next was cleaning the interior. Due to the amount of water damage and my intent to one day rally race this car I stripped the interior completely. Seats front and back floor side walls center console everything up to the headliner

I then cleaned everything top to bottom with bleach to kill any mold remaining. then began lining the floor with a product i found through reserch to be a great subsitute for dynamat called u seal. rubberized asphalt with an aluminum top face. great stuff btw. i lined the floor with the u seal from all the way under the dash to the back around the spare tire area. next step i replaced the carpet with a full vinyl flooring.
once this was done i reinstalled the shifter but instead of stock i went with a cfm short throw thats fully adjustable. after that i put the center consol back in (not happy with the arm rest im shopping for a replacement that has no arm rest) next is the sidewalls going back in.

i then replaced the stock air system with a volant cai. still need to get it better fitted the hoods not wanting to close properly
next on the chopping block:
install new syder halo headlights
install new led smoke taillights
install new cypher auto race seats (waiting on the parts)
take it in to the shop to have the new svt suspension and sway bar intalled along with the 17" ford racing rally wheels and general g max tires.

Indeed. I've found some but they have some weird thread color. I'm still looking. Going to change the knob too just haven't decided which one yet.

I used my stock '05 st knob, I found that better then the steeda one.

Yea I'm not fond of the way the steeda one looks. Too flashy for me I like the plain black ones that are on rally sport direct

im not sure. it was the only fully formed vinyl flooring i could find. its acc brand, i got it from rock auto
